AMG & Associates Inc. is proud to share that the Newport Beach City Council Agenda, the City officially awarded the construction contract for the Balboa Branch Library and Fire Station No. 1 project to AMG & Associates Inc., with a total bid amount of $13,178,000 and authorization to execute the agreement.

This project holds special significance for the Newport Beach community, bringing new life to two beloved local institutions with deep historical roots. The original Balboa Branch Library was first established in 1929, serving as the City’s first municipal library and acting as an important educational and cultural hub for decades. Fire Station No. 1, built in 1962, has been a cornerstone of public safety on the Balboa Peninsula for generations.

Both facilities have exceeded their useful service lives and are being replaced with modern, resilient structures to better serve residents, visitors, and first responders alike.
AMG & Associates Inc. is excited to move forward with the City of Newport Beach on this historic and transformative project. We look forward to blending respect for local history with forward-thinking design, delivering facilities that enhance community services along the Balboa Peninsula for years to come.

Stay tuned for construction updates as we begin this journey together with Newport Beach.
