AMG & Associates, Inc. expands on their collegiate success with the award to two new projects at separate prominent Southern California Universities.
Today AMG received the award of the Charles E. Young Research Library Level A Renovations at the University of California Los Angeles. The project known as the YRL A Level Renovation is a 17,230 sf tenant improvement to the existing library facility and will be AMG’s first project for UCLA. The $1.3M contract is scheduled to begin the first week of January, 2009.
AMG is also slated to start a new Café build-out in the first floor of the Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles. This fast track project is scheduled to begin in late January 2009. In addition to acting as the general contractor for the project, AMG & Associates, Inc. has been hired for various preconstruction and consulting services.

Buena Park City Council awarded the Walter D. Ehlers Senior Community Center and Social Hall to AMG & Associates, Inc. in the amount of $4,348,728.00. The duration for the project is 220 working days. The project is named after Mr. Walter D. Ehlers, a congressional of honor recipient. AMG & Associates is extremely honored and humbled to be a part of such an important project for the senior citizen community. The senior center social hall is a single story masonry structure totaling approximately 9,582 square feet of California Building Code, type V-1 hour construction, fully-sprinklered in lieu of 1-hour construction. There is a new enlarged and remodeled entry lobby to the existing community center building. The architect for the Robert Coffee and Associates, and the construction manager is Heery International. The principal in charge for the project is Gregory Barrow and the project superintendent is Bill Burke.

AMG & Associates, Inc was awarded the contract for the New Lifeguard/Paramedic Station Project, Specifications No.: F007, C.P 69488 by the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors. The New Avalon Lifeguard/Paramedic Station is located on Catalina Island. The project consists of a two story, 7,005 SF lifeguard/paramedic station, with two bay apparatus area for housing, a paramedic truck, a utility truck, a watercraft trailer, an office, storage rooms, reception, office, storage room, living quarters, kitchen, and dormitory for eight personnel. The anticipated start date for the project is June 1, 2008, the duration for the project is approximately one year, and the contract value is approximately $4,000,000.00.

AMG & Associates is the apparent low bidder for the County of Los Angeles, New Avalon Paramedic and Lifeguard Station located on Catalina Island. The project consist of a two story, 7,005 SF lifeguard/paramedic station, with two bay apparatus area for housing, a paramedic truck, a utility truck, a watercraft trailer, an office, storage rooms, reception, office, storage room, living quarters, kitchen, and dormitory for eight personnel. The estimated value of the project is approximately $4,000,000.00. The award of the project is scheduled for April 15, 2008.

AMG & Associates is the apparent low bidder for the Department of Water & Power, John Ferraro Building Repairs Project located at 111 North Hope Street. This project consists of removal of the existing 40,000 S.F granite podium in front of the building, removal of the existing waterproof membrane, and removal of the waterproof membrane at the pool area. AMG & Associates will have the new waterproof membrane at the both the podium area and pool installed and the reinstallation of the granite pavers. The potential contract value is approximately $7,840,000.00, which depends on the award of all or part of the bid items. The award of the project is scheduled for April 22, 2008.
