The Mar Vista Institute celebrates the Grand Opening of the $4.2 million dollar Mar Vista Family Center Every Child Foundation Youth Center. AMG & Associates was the contractor for the construction of the 2 story, 11,000 square foot Youth Center. Guest speakers for the event were Dr. Saundra Sparling the founder of the Mar Vista Institute, Ronnie Avadon; Board Chair, Lucia Diaz; Chief Executive Officer, Wendy Greuel; Los Angeles City Councilwoman, and representatives from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosas’ office.
The Mar Vista Institute is a non-profit organization that is involved in the local community. As described on their web site “The mission of the Mar Vista Family Center (MVFC) is to provide low-income families with quality preschool education, youth enrichment, and educational tools to create positive change in their lives and in their communities.†President, Albert Giacomazzi of AMG & Associates indicates “Our firm is extremely proud to be a part of a successful team that constructed the Youth Center. This was one of the most enjoyable projects because of the positive working relationships with the Mar Vista Institute, Russ Tyner the Architect, Jim Dreyfuss the construction manager, Raymond Williams our superintendent, and our quality subcontractors. We believe in giving back to the community by choosing to bid on projects for many non-profit organizations.â€
The New Youth Center will provide a dance room, fitness room, library, counseling for all levels of education from pre-school thru college prep, executive offices, and meeting rooms.

AMG & Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce its recent membership to the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC), and individual involvement in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), programs.
USGBC is having a positive influence on the environment through the use of replenished and recycled building products, science, and engineering. These aspects are being utilized by contractors, engineers, architects, developers, and owners that choose to have their buildings built green to coexist with the environment and experiencing an economic benefit.
As stated above, AMG & Associates, Inc., has become a member of USGBC. Additionally, individuals of our team have become LEED Accredited Professionals, of which there are only 75,000 to date, passing the rigorous LEED for New Construction exam. Currently two of AMG & Associates, Inc.’s executive management team and one of our Project Superintendents are now LEED Accredited Professionals. We are extremely proud of this accomplishment, which will help build a better tomorrow for our future generations.
We look forward to working with the council members and others, to share in developing design and construction and industry standards, which include educational tools that facilitate the implementation of sustainable design and building practices.

AMG & Associates is nearing completion of the $4.2 million dollar addition to the Mar Vista Family Center in Culver City. An extremely successful project for the project team that consisted of; the Mar Vista Institute, Houston-Tyner Architects, Dreyfuss Construction Management, and AMG & Associates. The project is finishing on schedule, change orders were kept to a minimum, and the community will enjoy a beautiful building with state of the art amenities

AMG & Associates, Inc. begins the new year with three new projects. First AMG was the successful bidder for Fire Station #156 located in Santa Clarita for the County of Los Angeles. This $3.8M project is located just a few miles from AMG’s corporate offices and will begin in early March of this year.
Two days later AMG was successful on a $1.4M project renovating medical facilities for the Portals’ Western Avenue Recovery and Wellness Center North and South Buildings in Los Angeles. Within the same week the AMG team was notified by the City of Seal Beach that the award of Seal Beach Fire Station #48 would be made to AMG as well. This $3.9M project will begin in the first quarter of this year.
