In July 2017, AMG was awarded the contract for construction to the 28,500 square foot, century-old stadium at Santa Barbara High School. The project includes a new 2,300-seat concrete grandstand and press box, a team room, weight room, a synthetic surface track that meets California interscholastic Federation Standards, and a combination football – soccer – lacrosse field with artificial turf.
The contract also included directional and shielded stadium lights, a sound amplification system, a major storm water drainage system, and site underground utilities upgrades. 2018 brought the now historic Santa Barbara fires, followed by floods, which closed freeways and roads for long periods of time.
This $30,042,673 project was designed by Kruger Bensen Ziemer Architects, Inc. and is 100% ADA compliant. This was a major improvement to the existing historic stadium bringing the athletic department a new environment in which to excel. The students are loving Friday night football games under the lights.
